Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School is known for academic excellence and service learning projects. Even from the young age of two, we begin to instill a sense of pride in giving to others.
Depending on where a class sees a need, we change our projects. Some of our outreach programs have included:
- Green Team Efforts (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse)
- Operation Christmas Child
- Sock Drive/Sock it to Me Chapel associated with St. Nicholas Day
- Adopting needy families for Christmas
- Knitting hats for people who are homeless and cancer patients
- Bringing homemade gifts to the elderly at local nursing homes
- World Land Trust-US, an international conservation organization
- Eighth graders at lead chapel
- Christmas caroling
- Beach Sweep
- Support of our Troops
- Little Free Pantry/Little Free Library
- Blessing of the Pets
- Volunteering with the elderly at The Veranda
- Brown Bag Program with Church of the Good Shepherd to feed the hungry
- Walk for Wounded Warriors - add in front of “Support for our Troops”
- Veterans’ Day Program to honor our veterans
- Partner with LSU Coastal Roots for reforestation; growing 700 Southern Bald Cypress trees annually and planting them
- Partner with LSU Coastal Roots for growing a beach grass to prevent coastal erosion and planting them on the beach in Cameron Parish
- Partner with Phillips 66 to restore a Native Cajun Prairie planting
- Homemade blankets to give to those children who need them
- Collection of stuffed animals to give to children who need them
- Homemade chew toys for dogs which were given to the local Animal Shelter
