Athletics

BB

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School athletics mission is to teach leadership, self discipline, and sportsmanship, to a diverse group of student athletes, in a growth centered environment. Being part of EDS athletics provides student athletes the opportunity to learn important life skills such as goal setting, self-confidence, decisiveness, passion, and enthusiasm.

Approximately 80% of students in 5th-12th grades consistently participate in pom squad, cheerleading, esports, football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, golf, tennis and track & field.

Our 5th-8th grade students participate in the Calcasieu Catholic Athletic League (CCAL) and our high school student athletes compete in the Association of Christian Educators of Louisiana (ACEL). The ACEL league offers opportunities to compete in both Junior Varsity and Varsity level sports with other high schools in the state.  We look forward to continuing to grow our program into the future.

Middle & High School Cross Country

2023-2024 marked our 3rd season for our Cross Country program. Led by coaches Duane Clemmons, Natalie Clemmons and Ryan Patin, our girls and boys teams were ACEL JV State Champions for the second consecutive year. We began our cross county program in 2020 with one athlete and since then, our teams have grown tremendously at both the North and South campuses, with no signs of slowing down. We look forward to an exciting season in 2024-2025.

We are excited for the 2024-2025 season and the overall growth of our golf program. Last season, we had three Middle School students compete in the Calcasieu Parish Golf League, with two of them advancing to the Medalist Tournament, which requires them to be ranked in the top 15 among all Middle School participants in the area. We also had several High School students participate in local tournaments during the season, as well as Bayou Local Tour over the summer. Our school hosted several invitationals the last few seasons and we are also helping ACEL with the process of sanctioning the sport. Our Middle School athletes are able to get instruction from our coaches during PE on Tuesdays during the Spring, and our High School athletes are able to attend Graywood for practice on Wednesdays during their PE times.
