Advancing the Vision

Advancing The Vision Logo - A Capital Campaign for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School
South Campus Now Open

In August 2020, after a multi-year capital campaign, Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School welcomed students to it's brand new upper school south campus.  This unprecedented expansion allows EDS to realize it's ultimate vision of becoming the area's premier college preparatory school.

The new state-of-the-art campus offers a park like atmosphere housing classrooms, two STEAM labs, an Academic Learning Commons, a campus life center featuring a competition size gymnasium, two band and choir rooms, and a learning lake.  The newly designed facility allows us to use the following learning modalities:  independent study, distance learning, collaborative learning, project based learning, performance-based learning, inter-disciplinary learning, naturalist learning, art-based learning, design-based learning and social/emotional/spiritual learning.

Commons Chapel
The Commons area is truly the heart of the school. This open and airy setting facilitates self-directed and small group work. The flexible instructional space is configured for project based learning, presentations, workshops and research.

South Campus Lunch
It is ideal for 21st century, student-centered learning. The Commons also provides a place for gathering throughout the day in a welcoming, comfortable setting.

Our new full size competition gymnasium eliminates the need to travel to other schools for practices and advances the success of our athletic programs. The gym houses volleyball and basketball courts, two classrooms, and seating for students, parents, and guests.

In addition to housing a gym, this facility also serves as a gathering place for students for assemblies, chapel, food service and performances that enhance school spirit and a sense of community.
