Welcome to Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School.

There is something special about a school where students are truly known. Where a three-year-old taking those first brave steps into a classroom and a senior preparing to cross the graduation stage are both surrounded by people who know their names, recognize their gifts, and believe deeply in who they are becoming.

That is the kind of community we strive to be at Bishop Noland.

As an independent, Episcopal school, we believe education is about far more than what happens inside a classroom. Certainly, we want our students to be challenged academically and exceptionally prepared for college and whatever comes next. Our responsibility is greater than that. We are helping young people discover their gifts, develop their character, deepen their faith, ask meaningful questions, care for others, and understand that their talents carry with them a responsibility to serve. 

Our mission says it beautifully: Grounded in Christian faith, Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School ignites life-long learning, inspires faith and compassion, engages meaningful connections, and empowers a diverse student body to lead and serve.

Those words are more than a statement on a website. They are our promise.

Our Episcopal identity calls us to be a community grounded in faith while welcoming questions, encouraging thoughtful exploration, and honoring the dignity of every person. Through chapel, worship, service, learning, and our daily interactions with one anther, we seek to help students understand that faith is not simply something we discuss; it is something we live through compassion, integrity, humility, and service. 

At the center of all of this is belonging.

Belonging is more than being included. It is being known. It is having a teacher recognize when you need to be challenged and when you need encouragement. It is discovering a talent you did not know you possessed. It is finding your place on a team, on a stage, in a laboratory, in a classroom, in chapel, or among a group of friends. It is knowing that you are an important part of something larger than yourself. 

Across our two campuses, from our youngest Eagles through our graduating seniors, we want every student and family to experience that sense of connection. Two Campuses. One Mission. One Bishop Noland community. 

We are also a school that is looking forward.

Education cannot simply prepare students for the world as it once was. We must prepare them for the world they will inherit and eventually lead. That means cultivating curiosity, adaptability, critical thinking, creativity, courage, and compassion. It means giving students opportunities to explore, research, perform, compete, create, serve, lead, succeed, and sometimes fail and try again.

Our students should leave Bishop Noland prepared not only to enter a great college or pursue a meaningful career, but to become thoughtful people who recognize that their lives can make a difference. 

That work is possible because of extraordinary relationships. Our teachers know their students. Our families are partners in their children's education. Our alumni and friends remain part of our story. Our students learn that being an Eagle means belonging to a community that extends far beyond their years on our campuses. 

Whether you are a currently family, an alumnus returning home, or a prospective family discovering Bishop Noland for the first time, I hope you will explore our school and experience what makes this community distinctive.

Walk through our classrooms. Attend a chapel. Cheer at a game. Listen to our students perform. Watch them investigate a question or a lab, collaborate on a project, serve someone else, or simply laugh together between classes. 

Bishop Noland is difficult to understand from a website alone.
