Second Grade Teacher

Hi! My name is Stacy Wheat and I am the new second grade teacher at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School. I graduated from McNeese State University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in English and Paralegal Studies. After graduation, I worked as a litigation paralegal at a local law firm for nearly ten years. A year and a half ago, I enrolled at McNeese State University to obtain my Master’s of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education and teacher certification.

My husband is Chris Wheat and we are the proud parents of Lucas and Lawson, who both attend EDS. Also, we are excited to be expecting our third son in October. Watching my own children grow and learn inspired me to become a teacher. Witnessing the moment a child understands a new concept and seeing the resulting confidence and excitement is an amazing experience.

I believe that each child learns differently and look forward to fostering each student’s learning style within the small class size offered by EDS. I feel extremely blessed and excited to be a part of the EDS family. I look forward to watching my students learn through creativity, small group work, real world connections, critical thinking, and hands-on activities. I look forward to generating excitement about learning within my students!
