Kindergarten Teacher

Hello, my name is Mary Burke. I have been teaching for 22 years. This is my 14th year at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School and my 20th year to teach kindergarten. My teaching philosophy is to provide a safe learning environment where all children can succeed.

I love my job because I love the children. I enjoy teaching at a school where all the children feel accepted. I chose Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School because I am Episcopalian, and I had always heard wonderful things about EDS. I feel that I have a good rapport with young children.

I am married to Sam Burke, and we have two daughters and one son. Our older daughter, Lauren, lives in Dallas, TX where she uses her math degree in her profession as a data analyst. Sami, our second daughter, lives in Colorado. She has her degree in Information Technology. Our son, Timothy, attended EDS beginning in 4th grade. He graduated from EDS, Sulphur High School, and now attends McNeese State University where he is pursuing a degree in Accounting.

Besides being a leader in teaching, I also love being a mother and wife.
