Contact: firstname.lastname@example.orgI am Mrs. Kathy Grubb, the Technology Director at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School. The goal of my teaching, and center of my teaching philosophy, is active learning. One of my ultimate objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills to take control of and become active participants in their own learning. I truly believe that knowledge gained through active participation is knowledge that will stay with an individual. Thus my approach to teaching reflects this philosophy and I have developed and continue to use many techniques that are designed to engage students in their own learning.
I love my job at EDS because: I have the freedom to create meaningful and engaging lesson plans that incorporate both the ISTE/NETS standards but also real world applications.
I initially chose the school because of the high parental involvement as this was not present during my years teaching in the public school system. I continue to choose EDS because of its incredible support and encouragement among the faculty and staff members and for its faith based philosophies.
Besides being a leader in technology, I enjoy traveling and planning vacations for others. My favorite activity though, would be curling up with a good book on a rainy afternoon.
My husband and I have two children, Corinne and Megan, both of whom are EDS Alumni. This year we are celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary and my 18th year working at EDS!
I have a Bachelors of Arts degree from McNeese State University and a M. Ed in Educational Technology from Boise State University.
