Gabe Fontenot

Eighth Grade Math Teacher and Athletic Director

My name is Gabe Fontenot, and I am the Athletic Director at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School. This school year will be my seventh year as a teacher. I began my affiliation with the school through coaching the 5th grade boys basketball team in 2012, and then was hired on as a long term substitute at the end of the school year. I was officially hired in July of 2013 as a full time teacher and coach. This year will be my fourth year as Athletic Director. I also coach basketball.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Behavioral Sciences from McNeese State University and have completed my certification in Health & Human Performance and Middle School Mathematics. I also have completed my Masters in Educational Leadership as of May 2018.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School seemed like the perfect fit for me to begin my teaching career. I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere of the staff, students and parents to strive for academic and personal achievement. It feels good to come to work knowing that you are around a group of people who are working on self-improvement, and will help push you to reach your goals. My focus is to educate all students and athletes how to manage time, learn and play with passion and effort. Also to educate them that team work and positive influence now, can help you with team work and positive influence later in life.

Outside of teaching/coaching, I tutor math and train kids in basketball. I also enjoy fishing, exercising, cooking, and hanging out with good friends or family.
