Angela Doucet

PreK 2 Teacher/PreK 2 and PreK 3 Division Coordinator

I am Angela Doucet, I began my journey at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School twenty-three years ago.  Upon completion of my degree in Early Childhood Education in 1990 we moved from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles.  I found EDS, but it did not have a program for 2 year olds.  With Boo Kay’s support and trust she gave me the reins to start a PreK2 class and we have never looked back.

I developed the curriculum that is currently still in use. It is a combination of understanding where each child is developmentally and teaching to each of them by using music, repetition and many hands on experiences.

It is exciting to see how the program has grown and changed over the years and I am proud to have been where it all started.

The best thing about my job is my students.  It is so rewarding and satisfying to see my students growth over the year that they are with me.  I love seeing what our graduates have become and know that it all started with me!

I am married to Paul Doucet, we have two children and we live in Carlyss.  We have 40 acres of land, grow hay, and have horses.

Besides teaching, I also volunteer with the local 4-H program, I travel with my daughter’s dance team, and sew and design her costumes.  I am rarely bored!
