Amanda Meche

First Grade Teacher/Lower School Coordinator

Hi, my name is Amanda Meche and I teach first grade at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School. I also serve as Lower School Coordinator.

My teaching philosophy is centered on differentiated instruction through centers and hands-on learning. I love seeing the excitement in my students when they are learning and having fun at the same time! I love EDS because we are like one big family! This is my 10th year teaching at EDS and I would not want to teach anywhere else. Teaching has always been my passion. I'm grateful for the opportunity to touch so many lives and learn every day from my students.

I am originally from Texas, but have lived in Lake Charles for ten years. I graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also love volunteering and giving back to the community. I have been involved in the Junior League of Lake Charles for eight years and currently on the Board of Directors as Membership Director.

My husband is Scott Meche and we have two children who both attend EDS. Emersyn is in 5th grade and Holden is in 2nd grade
